Well it’s almost done. I’ve got a “pretty good” draft of that paper all written, and with any luck, I’ll have it properly revised and all gussied up and ready to be sent off to Tokyo by the end of the week. Which means one big ball of stress is just about off my chest. Which also means I’m likely to be returning some phone calls this week.
I probably should make it sober week, too, if I’m really going to get this done. I drank a wee bit too much the other night and I still feel like my head’s in a fog. (Or maybe that’s just the result of staring at my computer all day.)
Today’s been all about Japan, really. Apart from this paper I’m writing, I also booked my hotel and bought myself a travel guide for Tokyo. (I was tired of trying to visualize a city I’ve never really seen a street map of.) So I’m starting to actually get excited. It’s getting closer. And while I’ve still got a few things left to do between now and then, the reality is starting to sink in. I’m going to Tokyo.
So, if you’ll all excuse me, I’m going to settle down with a travel guide and Japanese dreams.
