a week from today

I’ll be flying over the Pacific Ocean on my way to Tokyo.

That just occurred to me today and is making me rather happy. I’ve spent the last two days here in the office watching my computer render a digital video (despite the fact that digital video editing isn’t in my job description). And while that’s been happening, I’ve been entering numbers into a database on my laptop.

So I’m looking forward to the change in venue. I still have way too much to get done between now and then, and that persistent feeling that’s been with me since camp — that feeling that this isn’t really my life — is still with me. But the thought that I’ll traveling again soon is filling me with that feeling of possibility that you can really only get when you’re about to go somewhere for the very first time.

Well, back to the grindstone.
