where are you?

I know I know. I never call, I never write. It’s like I’ve dropped off the face of the planet. That’s how I’ve been feeling as of late, anyway, despite the fact that I have been keeping in relatively good touch with a lot of people lately. But mostly because I’ve been extraordinarily busy. Busy busy. Idle hands, and all that.

So, here’s all that I’ve been up to, in no particular order:

  • Designing and developing not one, not two, not three, but four different websites
  • Planning my wedding
  • Throwing various parties and celebrations for my fiancé both (a) Valentine’s Day, (b) her birthday, and (c) her getting a new job
  • Preparing to teach/coordinate this new program for my new job
  • Writing a paper which may or may not turn into the introduction to my dissertation

As you can see, it’s a lot. But I have to say, I love it.

I’m going to digress for a second. Dana’s been having all sorts of crazy dreams lately, and a good number of them have had to do with our wedding and things going Horrible Wrong. This morning, though, I was reading the paper and saw an article on a bombing in Iraq during a wedding and said to Dana, no matter what may go wrong, things can always be worse.

So I’m stressed out. And don’t have a lot of free time. And sometimes I feel like I’m just keeping my head above water. But it’s a goddamn beautiful day outside, and I’ve got a pretty good life even with its stresses and uncertainties. And I’ll count myself as lucky.
