So it’s not like I have a lot of time or anything, but for some reason I thought I’d play around with some social networking sites. You can find them over there on the right under the ol’ here i am tag. There’s also a link to a new blog I found yesterday called Buddhist Geeks. So far I’m liking the podcast. I have a few issues with a couple things some of their interviewees said, but I’ve never been a big fan of agreeing with anyone wholeheartedly and uncritically just because they’re a Buddhist!
If something they post really strikes me, you can be sure I’ll respond in kind. hehehe
In other, and vastly more exciting news, I was just offered a real bona-fide job here at the Institute of Buddhist Studies! In point of fact, the job is really just a conglomeration of the three separate freelance, contract-worker things I’ve been doing for them since August finally all wrapped up in one package (with benefits!). So, in some real way, it’s all just thoughts on paper, i.e., it doesn’t really change anything on a day-to-day basis. But so what? Thoughts on paper are my bread and butter, to mix a few more metaphors, and at the end of the day, in the face of the overwhelming weirdness that is “academic institutions,” I work for a Buddhist graduate school. And I get to screw around on the Internet while doing it.
I’m livin’ the dream.
