The Great Sound of Enlightenment

The Institute of Buddhist Studies will host its annual Winter Symposium at the 2009 Buddhist Churches of America National Council Meeting. This year’s theme is The Great Sound of Enlightenment: Shin Buddhist Music Throughout the Ages.

The afternoon program will examine the use and meaning of music in Shin Buddhist services, including its origins, current practices and future possibilities.

New (non-representational) Shin Buddhist music and songs
